No. The Parade takes place as scheduled on November 11, rain or shine.
Participation policies
The New York City Veterans Day Parade is the most varied and inclusive in the nation. It is open to all veterans who have served our nation in uniform, organizations that work in support of our veterans and military, and appropriate youth/civic groups and businesses that wish to show their support for our veterans. All potential participants must complete an application and agree that they will adhere to the non-political policy of the parade.
Informal or new veterans groups are welcome, so long as they designate a responsible point of contact, complete an application and agree that they will adhere to the non-political policy of the parade.
Absolutely. Please complete an application and indicate your agreement that you will adhere to the non-political policy of the parade. Before the parade (or on the day of) we will direct you to where you can join other veterans from your era.
We do not restrict spouses or family members from participating; your group may have its own policy/desire.
Signs or props can be carried, as long as they are NOT used to promote any political message or agenda, per the parade's non-political policy.
Opening Ceremony
The Opening Ceremony begins at 10:00 AM and lasts until just after 11:00 AM.
The best way to travel to the Opening Ceremony is by public transportation. Take the R or W to the 23rd Street stop, or take the M-23 crosstown bus. If arriving by car or charter bus, arrange to be dropped off on 23rd Street just east of Fifth Avenue.
Preferential seating is available for senior veterans, disabled and their escorts. Seating will then be offered to younger veterans, and then to the general public.
Parade Assembly Area

Yes, portable toilets will be available. In addition, many businesses make their restrooms available to Parade participants.
Parade
The parade begins at around 11:30, and lasts until about 3:30 PM.
The parade proceeds up Fifth Avenue, from 26th Street to 56th Street. > map
Seniors and disabled veterans will be placed on vehicles and/or floats.
The Reviewing Stand is located at 41st Street, in front of the New York Public Library.

PLEASE NOTE: The purpose of the NYC Veterans Day Parade is to honor the service of our veterans, not to endorse or support any political agenda. Any individual or group that attempts to use the Parade as a forum for such a purpose will be denied participation, and will forfeit any expenses incurred. Individuals wishing to make statements of this nature have sufficient opportunities to exercise their right to do so at numerous other events, and at any other time or place. The Parade organizers respectfully reserve our legal right to maintain the message and focus of this particular event solely on the service of our veterans and military.
